Details In the dark days of South Africa's reign of Apartheid, James Gregory (Joseph Fiennes) is assigned to keep watch over political prisoner Nelson Mandela (Dennis Haysbert) in his cell on Robben Island. Although fiercely dedicated to the ideas of Apartheid, James slowly awakes to the realization that his government's policies are evil after spending time with the persuasive prisoner.
